Great Quotes From the RNC 2012

"Unequivocal in principle, reasonable in manner, we shall be able I hope to do a great deal of good to the cause of freedom & harmony." --Thomas Jefferson

With that said, here are a few of our favorite quotes from a handful of the numerous speeches.

Mitt Romney: "How many days have you woken up feeling that something really special was happening in America? Many of you felt that way on Election Day four years ago. Hope and Change had a powerful appeal. But tonight I'd ask a simple question: If you felt that excitement when you voted for Barack Obama, shouldn't you feel that way now that he's President Obama?"
"The president has disappointed America because he hasn't led America in the right direction. He took office without the basic qualification that most Americans have and one that was essential to his task. He had almost no experience working in a business. Jobs to him are about government."
"The centerpiece of the president's entire re-election campaign is attacking success. Is it any wonder that someone who attacks success has led the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression? In America, we celebrate success, we don't apologize for it."

Paul Ryan: "When I was waiting tables, washing dishes, or mowing lawns for money, I never thought of myself as stuck in some station in life. I was on my own path, my own journey, an American journey where I could think for myself, decide for myself, define happiness for myself. That's what we do in this country. That's the American Dream. That's freedom, and I'll take it any day over the supervision and sanctimony of the central planners."
"College graduates should not have to live out their 20s in their childhood bedrooms, staring up at fading Obama posters and wondering when they can move out and get going with life."
"Sometimes even presidents need reminding that our rights come from nature and God, and not from government."

Marco Rubio: "[The president's] new slogan for his campaign is 'Forward.' Forward? A government that spends $1 trillion more than it takes in. An $800 billion stimulus that created more debt than jobs. A government intervention into health care paid for with higher taxes and cuts to Medicare. Scores of new rules and regulations. These ideas don't move us 'Forward,' these ideas move us 'Backwards.' These are tired and old big-government ideas that have failed every time and everywhere they've been tried. Ideas that people come to America to get away from. These are ideas that threaten to make America more like the rest of the world, instead of helping the rest of the world become more like America."

Rick Santorum: "President Obama rules like he is above the law. America take heed, when a president can simply give a speech or write a memo and change the law to do what the law says he can't, we weaken our republic."

Rand Paul: "When I heard the current president say, 'You didn't build that,' I was first insulted, then I was angered, then I was saddened that anyone in our country, much less the president of the United States, believes that roads create business success and not the other way around. Anyone who so fundamentally misunderstands American greatness is uniquely unqualified to lead this great nation."

Condoleezza Rice: "When the world looks at us today, they see an American government that cannot live within its means. They see an American government that continues to borrow money that will mortgage the future of generations to come. The world knows that when a nation loses control of its finances, it eventually loses control of its destiny."

Artur Davis, a former Democrat who seconded Obama's nomination in 2008 and co-chaired his national election committee but has now changed parties: "John F. Kennedy asked us what we could do for America. This Democratic Party asks what can government give you. Don't worry about paying the bill, it's on your kids and grandkids."

Susana Martinez, likewise a former Democrat: "Before I ran for district attorney, two Republicans invited my husband and me to lunch. And I knew a party-switch was exactly what they wanted. So, I told Chuck, we'll be polite, enjoy a free lunch and then say goodbye. But we talked about issues -- they never used the words Republican, or Democrat, conservative or liberal. We talked about many issues, like welfare -- is it a way of life, or a hand-up? Talked about the size of government -- how much should it tax families and small businesses? And when we left that lunch, we got in the car and I looked over at Chuck and said, 'I'll be damned, we're Republicans.'"

Mia Love: "[The president's] policies have failed us. We're not better off than we were four years ago, and no rhetoric, bumper sticker or Hollywood campaign ad can change that. Mr. President, I'm here to tell you, the American people are awake, and we're not buying what you're selling in 2012."

Closing with Mitt Romney: "President Obama promised to slow the rise of the oceans, and heal the planet. I promise to help you and your family."

"If I am elected president of these United States, I will work with all my energy and soul to restore that America, to lift our eyes to a better future. That future is our destiny. That future is out there. It is waiting for us. Our children deserve it, our nation depends upon it, the peace and freedom of the world require it. And with your help we will deliver it. Let us begin that future together tonight."

Do You Remember January 3, 2007 ?

This is beautiful, it fully explains the current state of our country and how we got here. George W. Bush was not a true conservative but these numbers do tell a good story. Read them closely and think about it.

Thanks to fellow Conservative and State Rep candidate Jeffrey Locke ( good luck in November ) and I see it has circulated around on the "internets" for some time now but it's still hard to argue with!

January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took
over the Senate and the Congress.  At the time:
    >>>>>>>The  DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
    >>>>>>>The  GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
    >>>>>>>The  Unemployment rate was 4.6%
    >>>>>>>George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT
    MONTHS of JOB GROWTH

Remember  the day...on this same January  3rd, 2007 it was the day that Barney Frank
took over  the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the
    Senate Banking  Committee.

    The economic meltdown that happened
15 months  later was in what part of the economy?

    BANKING  AND FINANCIAL SERVICES

Unemployment...  to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things)
dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic  loans on the economy from
YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!  Bush asked Congress
17 TIMES to stop Fannie  & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it
was so financially risky for the US economy.  And who took the
THIRD highest pay-off from  Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA
And  who fought against reform of Fannie and  Freddie? OBAMA and
the Democrat Congress  So when someone tries to blame Bush.

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007....  THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!

Budgets do not originate from the White House. They come
from Congress and the party that controlled  Congress since
January 2007 is the  Democrat Party.  Furthermore,  the
Democrats controlled the budget  process for 2008 & 2009 as well
as 2010 & 2011.  In  that first year, they had to contend with
George  Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when
Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid  bypassed George Bush
entirely, passing  continuing resolutions to keep government
running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they
passed a massive omnibus  spending bill to complete the 2009
budgets.  And where was Barack Obama during this time?  He was
a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive
spending  bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as  President to
    complete 2009.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was
the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That
deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight
    decline in deficit spending.

    After that, Democrats in Congress
took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who
voted for the budgets.  If  Obama inherited anything, he
inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is  saying
is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to
expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.  There is no
way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it
    on!

Restoring Love - Dallas Texas July 2012

Restoring Love in Dallas Texas !! This experience was one of the most moving and motivating of my life. To be around people that are happy, loving and grateful is so great. It was like one big family (without all of the usual family baggage) I say with a smile. I think people in Texas generally feel this way but for sure the over 60,000 people attending the events of Restoring Love, have a strong love of their God, their neighbors and their country. Every restaurant, our hotel, Wal-Mart across from Cowboy's Stadium and everywhere we went we saw people wearing shirts and smiles in support of the movement. Please check out our photo slide show!

Thursday morning we went to the stadium to sign in and get our "Day of Service" assignment and instructions. There were lines of about an hour to sign in but happiness and love were everywhere. A vendor fair offered many different items including books on faith and patriotism, Tea Party groups, wooden jewelry made of olive tree wood from Israel, and a new line of clothing which is 100% American made. 1791.com is even using the original looms that Levi's used before out sourcing the work overseas. That evening we went to the FreedomWorks event Restoring Freedom. Held at the American Airlines Arena in downtown Dallas and it was full of speeches that were both political and inspirational. Most impressive was C.L. Bryants speech, WOW! I urge you to check out THIS LINK to watch it and share with friends. Or better yet, watch it right here!

Friday morning we were to be at the Stadium and 7am to get ready to board buses that would take us to our service project. Only a portion of the days people were in our area, others were scattered across the city from cleaning parks to rebuilding porches to feeding the homeless. Our group of 4 buses went to the Operation Blessing warehouse in Grand Prarie TX. Half of the about 150 people there painted walls of the warehouse while the other half bagged beans and sorted food for the food bank packages for needy families. Overall there were 130,000 volunteers that day working on over 300 projects if I have my numbers right. Did you see anything about this on the mainstream media? I doubt it. It was a great time, and again everyone was so happy to be there!!
Friday evening was the group night at the Rangers game. Although a true blue Royals fan, I rooted for the home team from Texas. It was easy because they were playing the Chicago White Sox, but sadly they lost. We saw a lot of Restoring Love shirts there also! The group was listed in the groups displayed on the giant scoreboard during the game. After the day of service and night of baseball in 100 degree weather, we were ready to shower and go to SLEEP! Saturday nights big event was incredible. Restoring Love it was called but in that crowd, the love was already present. It started with this great intro video.

All you really need to know about the message of the night can be seen in this opening prayer video.

The entire weekend was fantastic and inspired us to come back and begin to make a difference in our community. We met so many great people that share our beliefs and ideals and hope that we can help restore America and restore the belief that America is great because America is good. Americans are good.

Freedom-of-Speech & Chick-fil-A

Once again the Pittsburg Kansas Morning Sun with an unsigned editorial totally misses the intent of the Chick-fil-A protest. They took the media hype path that wanted to make it about gay people or gay marriage. Anybody who supported Chick-fil-A that day will tell you it was about FREE SPEECH and the right for a privately owned company to have an opinion. They did not condemn anyone or refuse to serve them. The CEO simply stated his company’s beliefs to the Baptist Press. Imagine that, a company that honors their Sabbath by closing, is standing for traditional marriage. I don’t think they are closed on Sunday because they are big NFL fans. When mayors and government officials make claims to keep them out of their city or state, then the constitutional right of free speech is compromised.
The media and the political left whipped up this frenzy by pushing the CEO’s original quote, which lit a fire they could not put out. That fire is burning strong in America and it’s not left or right. It’s about standing for the Constitution! There are 2 lies out there.  One is if you don’t agree with a person’s lifestyle you must hate them. The other is that to love someone you must agree with everything they believe and do. Neither of these is true and most common sense Americans know better. It would be nice if the Morning Sun would learn that lesson.

Tolerance is something that both sides need to be aware of and work to improve. The left needs to be more tolerant of the free speech issue and that all Americans have a right to voice their opinion, either individually or with their privately owned business. The right needs to be more tolerant of all lifestyles and realize as the line above says... "if you don’t agree with a person’s lifestyle you must hate them and other is that to love someone you must agree with everything they believe and do. You can LOVE them no matter what, love them with all of your soul and all of your heart. Love will hold us together, always.
