Stand and Speak or Sit Quietly ?

Please watch! All I am asking is that you watch this with your common sense and your open mind. Forget what you may have heard or what you believe about Glenn Beck. I challenge you to watch this and let's discuss what you see is the truth and what you think is wrong? America is truly at an important crossroad. At this time in my life, I am not ashamed to believe and would rather speak up and be wrong than to remain silent.

This is not about Glenn Beck. And not about Republican vs Democrat. It's about good and evil. This is about faith in our lives today and will it play a role in the future of this country?  The last line of the Declaration of Independence says "with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor."

Don't just think about the election in November, this goes way beyond that. If the direction is not changed, our children and THEIR children will not live in the great America that we've known. It starts with people speaking out and standing up. Will you speak and stand or sit and be silent?

Dogs and 30 Years Ago ?

Much has been made recently about Mitt Romney driving his family on a vacation with the dog on top of the car in a pet carrier. Animal rights folks can claim what he did 30 years ago was animal abuse and political enemies can somehow make the claim that it's how a "President" Romney would treat the old, the poor and everyone else. I think the bigger more interesting question might be what was his opponent President Barack Obama doing 30 years ago? And does it matter?

The President himself on many occasions has admitted to various activities about 30 years ago ranging from pot and cocaine use in high school and college years. Also in 1980 it is reported that he had strong Marxist beliefs and believed that America was broken and needed to be transformed with wealth redistribution. In April of 1983 as a senior at Columbia University he attended the "Socialist Scholars Conference" that led to his community organizing path and may have been the kick start of his political career. This article by Stanley Kurtz on NationalReview.com has many details of the Presidents radical, socialist and Marxist activities in his college years, 30 years ago.

This election season is going to be both ridiculous and historic. We would all be better off to ignore the ridiculous and petty and concentrate on judging based on the candidates history, associations and actions. If we do that it seems to me that the choice is obvious. In the 2008 election then candidate Obama was not vetted and researched with an adequate level of scrutiny. I am sure his supporters believe that he is a centrist President, governing from the middle and would bring all Americans together but he has not done that. If you consider his history beginning well over 30 years ago, combined with the makeup of his administration and it's clear that he has not changed. I contend he is farther to the left than anyone to hold the office of President. On second thought, perhaps it's a toss up with Woodrow Wilson? President Obama sold hope and change, but history and truth will show that who is guiding and molding the hope, and who is leading the change is critical to America's future.

I would not put our dog Nellie in a car carrier on top of the car to go on vacation. I am sure that she would rather be up on top of the car and going with us on vacation than going to spend time in a boring cement cage boarding at the vets office. 30 years ago as kids we were riding in the front seat without a seat belt and occasionally even in the back of a pickup truck! On a less ridiculous and serious note, do we need a leader that would support, believe in or pursue studies and activities promoting socialist and Marxist ideas? Ideas that could be used 30 years later to "fundamentally transform the United States of America".

On a purely unrelated side note, I know that my wife was PROUD of her country 30 years ago.

Civility and Respect.... please.

I have had many Facebook chat interactions with my extremely liberal Uncle. He is an intelligent well educated professor and published author. We just disagree on politics. Could not be farther apart, but it has always been a civil discussion. Until recently. In one comment string, he crossed the line accusing me of being a racist Nazi and said I should run the crematoriums and being a White Supremacist supporter.

Does family mean anything? Is the bitter divide SO intense in this country that we cannot even show a little respect to your blood family? Or to ANYONE at that time. There is NO excuse for accusatory language and insults towards anybody.

It's time to change alright, but the changes in place in America cannot have good results. I am sorry Gene if anything I have ever said lead to you feeling this way. Those of you that know me, know that these accusations are unfair and unfounded. But it is what it is... you are my Uncle Gene, I respected you. But that respect is quickly fading.

Pray for America, and pray for family.

*  First President to apply for college aid as a foreign student, then deny he was a foreigner.

*  First President to have a social security number from a state he has never lived in.

*  First President to go on 17 lavish vacations, including date nights and Wednesday evening White House parties for his friends; paid for by the taxpayer.

*  First President to say that America was not a Christian nation.

*  First President to have 22 personal servants (taxpayer funded) just for his wife.

*  First President to keep a dog trainer on retainer for $102,000 a year at taxpayer expense.

*  First President to cancel National Prayer Day and then later host a National Muslim Prayer Day at the Whitehouse.

Monumental...

I had never heard of this monument until the last few days. I look forward to the movie and learning more about this historic piece that is not being taught. The National Monument to the Forefathers is amazing. Read more about it here, and make plans to see this on March 27 at a special showing in a theater near you.

Why is this history not being taught? I would guess it's related to taking God out of the schools and our families. Related to the 10 commandments being yanked out of courthouses and city halls across this remarkable and wonderful country. Time for Americans of faith to stand, all faith not just liberal or conservative. All faiths and ALL Americans.

I Am A Republican And I ...

I have been thinking about this post for over a month and this weekend gave me the incentive to actually right it. Today's Liberal politicians and media pundents like to throw out claims like Republicans want to kill grandma and move women back in to the stone age. I am sure there are things I hear about Liberals that I tend to believe after hearing them many times regardless of the truth. I hope you read all of these and post your comments below!

I am a Republican and can admit that I am wrong some of the time. So this post is to counter common myths about Republicans and Conservatives. I hope you enjoy this sometimes light hearted and sometimes serious explanation of my Conservative beliefs that may surprise some. Most of these differ from common misconceptions and some conflict with the Republican party stance, but I am just being honest with you. Some of my conservative friends may see these differently, but that's okay. We are all Americans, let's act like it more often then.

I am a Republican and I own a rain barrel with plans to buy a few more! Water is precious and becoming expensive, plus the plants love rain water much more than tap water.




     
I am a Republican and I don't watch FoxNews! Have not watched it for about 7 months. I can do my own thinking and do my own research. Even when I did, it was not my main source of info. Oh and I don't even go to FoxNews.com, and while writing this, thought of how I have not even opened the FoxNews app on my phone in months, so I deleted it. After posting this photo, I realized that many of you liberals would get a chuckle out of what the iPhone said today...

I am a Republican and I compost. Because like many of these things, it's the right thing to do. Not because I am saving the planet but because it's free, good for the plants and easy to do. We even used old boards from the previous owner and built our own!

I am a Republican and I do NOT support the death penalty. I agree that we need deterrents to crime but I draw the line here. It really is pretty simple, in my heart, no matter how vile or evil the crime, the only entity that can decide to end a life is God and not the courts and not other imperfect humans.

I am a Republican and I believe that the planet may very well be warming. But do not believe that the cause is the human consumption of fossil fuels and other pollutants. I am pretty sure that the main controller of temperatures here on earth is our SUN. With solar flares being the main cause for spikes ( more like bumps ) in the earths "fever". The one question that never seems to get addressed by global warming enthusiasts is this... the earth has had 3 ice ages, pretty sure all of them happened before the invention of oil drill, the Ford Model A and coal burning. Yet what then ended the ice ages and warmed the planet if no SUV's and charcoal grills were around?

I am a Republican and I recycle, reduce and reuse. My town does not have curbside recycling but there is a recycle center that accepts most items and beginning this week (better late then never) we started our recycle bin. Cardboard, plastic, glass and any other material that we can send there instead of the landfill is sweet! Again because protecting the planet from unnecessary waste is the right thing to do, not because it will save the planet from pending doom, but it's nice to leave it as clean as you found it!

I am a Republican and through the G.W. Bush presidency, I never thought he was doing a great job. He did protect us after the horror of 9/11 and helped get the country through tough times but other than that he was pretty much horrible. Spent WAY too much money, grew the government too large and did nothing but harm the battle towards ILLEGAL immigration. I guess I could also say he was a man of his word and wore his faith on his sleeve. You can disagree with his words and beliefs but he stood by his heart.

I am a Republican and I support equal right for gay individuals and couples! How can conservatives complain about personal freedom limits with healthcare or government regulations, yet not offer everyone the same and equal freedoms to ALL Americans? Hypocrites? Perhaps this group says it the best. Log Cabin Republicans - "We are loyal Republicans. We believe in limited government, strong national defense, free markets,low taxes, personal responsibility, and individual liberty.... We also believe all Americans have the right to liberty and equality.... Opposing gay and lesbian equality is inconsistent with the GOP's core principles of smaller government and personal freedom."

What Constitution?

"But when Congress refuses to act, and as a result, hurts our economy and puts our people at risk, then I have an obligation as President to do what I can without them."

Uh, NO !

Wow, that is perhaps the most troubling statement ever made by this president. So many to choose from but this one is frightening. This is not the first time he has made a statement like this. Now I admit that congress is for the most part inaffective, that does NOT give the President the right to bypass congress to get done what he feels is the right thing to do. Under the United States Constitution, one individual does not have that much power. You would think that a constitutional scholar like the president would understand the limits of power provided by that document. But how can we be sure when we have never seen any of his writings or opinions (they have not been released).

Not to get into the details of this particular piece of legislation (look here is you'd like to) but this is a clear disregard of the constitution and it's limits on power of the three branches of government. Because of open election results, one branch thinks this is a bad bill and is blocking the completion and implementation. Exactly how it is designed to do. The president does not have the power and authority to bypass congress and implement dictatorial actions to accomplish what HE thinks is the right thing to do.

I started to write here about main stream media, but this is beyond the media. This is the peoples problem. We are the ones that need to be outraged and fearful of such power grabs by any form of government, especially ours. Like most government entities, you give them an inch and they take a yard. Does America really want ONE person to have the power to affect millions of people with one signature?

That is not the America I know, how about you?

Americans, it is 2012... time to stand up.
