Never before has congress steamrolled legislation that completely goes against the will of the American people. The current congress is doing that right now on so many fronts that our heads should be spinning. From Health care to Cap and Trade, these people are ignoring the common will of the people in a power grab hidden as "the right thing to do" is making me sick.
All so the president can have a topic for the State of the Union heading in to the 2010 mid term elections. If he does not have health care, what does he have? Nothing. War is raging and he is doing the raging. The economy is pathetic with 10% unemployed and no real turn around in sight. Iran has not been stopped and no President Obama has NOT sat down for direct talks as he promised he would do. Spending is so out of control that my grandchildren will not be able to pay our debts. The dollar is in danger of collapsing and we basically owe China so much, perhaps they should have a seat in congress.
2010 should be a good election for Conservatives but will it be enough? Will it be too late?

Seriously ?
Is this government on the right track... anybody?
Our country's debt is growing at a pace that has never been seen, and the congress and President want to KEEP spending ? Imagine you and I doing that in our household. Congress, along with former President GW Bush and current President Obama, continue rolling out new bills, new policies, new "reforms" while seemingly ignoring the bottom line. Gold is at an all time high, and the dollar at an all time LOW. Last week Obama said they have "brought back the economy from the brink" Seriously ?
Unemployment is over 10%... actual unemployed number is closer to 20% if you count those that no longer qualify for unemployment or have stopped looking. That means 1 in 5 people eligible for work, are NOT working. The stimulus funding has really had no impact. Not even IF you believe the info on recovery.gov, we are still in deep trouble. But the government can't even get that website task right, that web site had bogus jobs credited, numbers not adding up and congressional districts listed that DON'T EVEN EXIST.... and they want to run health care for us ? Seriously ?
The media continues to ignore real problems our country is facing and concentrates it's time on degrading and insulting Sarah Palin, and slamming "teabaggers" with obscene references that most of the country has never heard used like that before. Is all of that more important than a country going broke and our lenders are now having second thoughts about loaning MORE to us? Seriously ?
Now they bring 911 planners and other terrorist to New York for trial ? First thing that comes to the "common sense" mind is... what about Miranda right ? These terrorist were not read their rights before arrest. That is a foundation of our criminal and court systems. Many things could happen and both are bad. They could ask that charges be dropped for that reason and the judge can either agree and they are FREE to go, OR they move on any way and they are convicted without full rights then a new precedent is set. You and I could be arrested without knowing our rights up front... Or even worse they begin to use "world" court laws and rules... then there is a whole new set of precedents to be set there. Seriously ?
Now is the time for all of us to stand up ! Be informed, ask questions, speak your mind! Now is the time. Seriously.
I encourage you all to regularly visit this site... read the postings, watch the videos and learn what is happening while most of us sit and watch the media cover things like the balloon boy.

100 Days in and President Obama is still campaigning--
In his "town hall" from Missouri today the President of the United States talked like it was September of 2008. Dude, you have the office, you ARE President of the greatest country in the world, the United States of America. For you to poke fun at a major cable network with millions of loyal viewers shows me that you do not respect the office you were elected to, or millions of cable viewers.
Am I surprised... nope. After all, this is the man that had no idea what Air Force One was doing Monday morning when it did an ill advised flyover of NYC trailed by F-15 fighter jets for a PHOTO OP? And you try to tell us you did not know?
Back to the town hall... and right after the slam on Fox News Channel, he made light of people like ME out "waving teabags around"
This again shows no respect for the slightly less than half of the country that did NOT vote for him last November. I expect more from our President, regardless of party. What does that do to encourage a "work together" atmosphere? He says that he is remaking America and that I don't doubt. If remaking includes government owned and operated car companies, banks and other businesses than yes, I too hope he FAILS. Did Democrats want Bush to succeed?
I hope and pray that America wakes up and realizes the direction we are speeding down like a runaway train... in 2010, there needs to be a message delivered. 2010 needs to be a cleaning house election for people from both sides.
Specter Switch--
Senator Specter switched parties to retain his power, NOT for the people he represents. He switched because he was going to LOSE the Republican Primary in 2010. If his state has any interest in honesty and if they believe in the "For The People By The People" idea, they will not elect him when he runs again for any party. In March of this year he was quoted as saying he would not change parties, then a month later he went back on his word. The Democrats can keep him, he is their kind of man.
Please folks, be involved and be informed. Do your part, we can make a difference or we can always wish we had...

AIG and Fake Outrage
When the retention bonuses were announced over the weekend, mine as most peoples first impressions was something like "what was AIG thinking?". But then reality set in, and the outrage in DC elevated, I knew there had to be more to this story.
Where to begin... the contracts, these were retention bonuses agreed to, in contracts with AIG associates before the "stimulus package" was passed. Which was passed with a questionable amendment offered by Chris Dodd (outrager in top form) to EXEMPT bonuses in place before Feb 09' from the bills restrictions on corp exec compensation. On CNN and in less than 24 hours he went from not knowing how the amendment as altered to saying the "administration" had ordered him to put the amendment in exactly like it was. It was also discovered that the Treasury "tax cheat Geitner" knew of these for weeks. And testified as such on March 3rd in front of Congress.
For full disclosure, Dodd and "Senator" Obama were the top two recipients of campaign donations from AIG. John McCain was on that list too, sadly... Now they want to pass a bill to go back and TAX those bonuses at a 90% rate !!!! WHAT ???
The REAL outrage (other than outrage for ALL of the bailouts) should be directed at AIG for what they did with there TARP money and where they sent these amounts to other places.....

- 5 BILLION to Bank of America
- 13 BILLION to UK banks (yes a foreign bank)

- 5 BILLION to SWISS banks

- Total of 62 Billion to FOREIGN Banks
And the outrage is about only $ 165 million ??
Congress put no controls in the TARP bill passed in 2008, and did not put ciontrols to limit or stop these. But when they were exposed they act like they are surprised and upset? Come on, don't they know that the American people are smarter than that? Or are we ?
Stand up people, don't let them go unchecked.

I was amazed that when I searched for the article online in several sites, I only found it in ONE of FOUR "news" sites. AND that site was not Foxnews.com. I searched CNN, MSNBC, Foxnews and ABC News..... only ABC had the story.
You want to know the direction we are heading in, look at how this law was even considered. We are a country that needs to find it's moral direction. We are all either too scared or too blind to see. Everyone should watch the Glenn Beck show on Friday at 4pm Central Time.

Obama says out of one side of his mouth (read from a teleprompter) that earmarks need to be eliminated one minute in front of the cameras and microphones... then the same day SIGNS in to law a Government spending bill to fund itself, that contains almost 4,000 earmarks. But does so BEHIND the closed door and behind the curtain... Can WE have it both ways like it seems our president and his administration is enjoying it?
